We have had many requests for shirts to be printed so people can wear them during the off-season. We have a great design from Chuck Conkle which will be printed by our friends at Traxler Custom T-Shirts in Clintonville.

Traxler sources as much materials for their printing from Ohio and is very eco-friendly by using water-based colors. The design will actually be a part of the shirt, rather than sitting on top of the fabric, which means you can wash the shirt and the design will not crack!

We are now collecting names of people who are interested in purchasing shirts with this design on them. Once we finalize any last minute design issues, shirt type, and colors we want to consider we will begin taking pre-orders. We are anticipating a cost of $20 per shirt, plus shipping.

Since the first charity tournament in September, we have been thinking about getting another tournament together.  Well that time is almost here!  On Monday April 9th at R Bar Arena we will kick off the second tournament.  R Bar will have half price burgers all night and $2.00 Yuengling Pints for all who come out for this event.  A portion of all money raised will then be donated to the Ryan Salmons Foundation in care of the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation.

• Event will run from 6pm – 11pm on Monday April 9th
• PS3 system will be used
• Champion will win a team signed stick
• Other prizes donated by the Columbus Blue Jackets and other organizations
• Entry Fee is $10 per player
• Players are welcome to bring their own PS3 compatible controller

We would like to thank each and every member who chose to run for the 2012 Advisory Board.  We had approximately 40% of the membership participating in the election process which resulted in the very first Advisory Board being elected.  Below are the members of the Board will will officially take their position on 4/8/12 with a term running until 4/9/13.

January 2013

As you may be aware Columbus will play host to the NHL All-Star Weekend Celebration in 2013.  Traditionally the event has sold out in every city that plays host, this means tickets for the general public may be very scarce.  If you would like to guarantee your ability to purchase tickets to the Skills Competition and Game your best bet is to become a Season Ticket Holder through Arch City Army.  Currently Full and Half Season Ticket Holders through the Columbus Blue Jackets will get this guarantee, with Quarter Season Ticket Holders having the ability to purchase one or the other.

For all Season Ticket Holders (Full, Half, and Quarter) through Arch City Army you will have the ability to purchase tickets to both events.  You will be able to purchase as many tickets as you have seats through Arch City Army.  We are currently accepting down payments for all season ticket packages through our online store.  If you purchase a Full Season Ticket Package your Arch City Army membership is included, the down payment is just $100.00 per package.  For half and quarter season tickets you must be a member of Arch City Army (new or renewed), the down payment for a half season is $50 and a quarter season is $25.

Like the Columbus Blue Jackets, Greater Columbus Sports Commission, and the City of Columbus we are very excited about the All-Star Weekend coming to Columbus.  Will you join us and be a part of history?

Advisory Board Elections

We have begun the process of electing members to our Advisory Board.  Elections will run from February 3rd until February 5th and will be 100% member elected.  The Advisory Board will be tasked with helping to run events, come up with new ideas for the group, etc.  We look forward to the growth the Board will allow us to realize and good luck to all the candidates.

Member Designed Scarf Contest

We are currently having members vote on the next scarf we will order.  We have some great designs that were submitted by our members and we look forward to seeing the winning design made into an actual scarf.  The designs submitted are:

Who would’ve thought 2011 could go by as fast as it did?  Well now we are on the edge of our 1 Year Anniversary and we are excited about what 2012 has to bring for Arch City Army.  Current members recently received an email with a Renewal Special, so make sure you check your email to get all the details.

So what happens if you are not a member of Arch City Army?  Well, we have the answer to that exact question below.

Beginning 1/1/12 for new members:

• Membership price is $20.00.
• Your membership is good for the remainder of the 2011-12 season through the end of the 2012-13 season.
• You will receive a free membership scarf and member ID card.
• For all games that take place after 12/31/11 until 4/7/12 you will receive an even bigger discount on tickets.
• Non-premium games are now $18.00, instead of $20.00 if purchased online.
• Premium games are now $20.00, instead of $25.00 if purchased online.
• All new members will receive a welcome email with the special discount code to receive these ticket prices.

New Member Scarf Design Contest

We are looking for a few good designs to have the membership vote on. Please take a moment to review the guidelines we have set for designs:

• Only members of Arch City Army are eligible for this contest
• Scarf designs must fit a final size of 7″ width, 59″ length
• Scarf designs must use team colors
• Scarf designs must have ACA or Arch City Army integrated into the design
• Scarf designs must NOT use copyrighted images
• Scarf designs must NOT have any vulgar language on them
• Scarf designs should use no more than four (4) different colors. If possible please provide the Pantone color numbers
• Each side can be designed differently
• Text description of designs will be accepted

Designs must be submitted via email to archcityarmy at gmail.com with the subject ACA – Scarf Design Contest other submission methods will NOT be accepted. The deadline for this contest is January 31, 2012. The next order of scarves will take place after we have exhausted our current supply of Rally Boys Rally! scarves. The winning design will receive two free tickets to a game of their choice (Premium games excluded).

2012-13 Season Tickets

On January 1st, 2012 we will activate three options in our online store in which you can place a down payment on a Season Ticket package of your choice.  While final pricing has not yet been determined we hope to have this decided by the end of the current season.  For Full Season Tickets a down payment of $100 is required, with all Full Season Tickets you will receive a free 2012-13 season membership or renewal.  Half Season Tickets require a $50 down payment, and Quarter Season Ticket packages will require a $25 down payment.  Down payments will be used in full toward the purchase price of your chosen package and are non-refundable.

Holiday Packs

All members of Arch City Army are invited to take advantage of our newest holiday promotion.  Choose a weekday game and a weekend game and save even more when they are purchased together.  Tickets start at $38 (which includes the PayPal fees we are assessed).  Each purchase will enter you into a drawing to receive a 2008-09 Season Team Autographed Jersey or one of four pucks autographed by Derek Dorsett, Fedor Tyutin, RJ Umberger, or Marc Methot.  Additional weekday game tickets may be purchased for $18, provided you have purchased a Holiday Pack, each additional ticket will result in another entry in the drawing.  Get your tickets online at http://archcityarmy.bigcartel.com. Holiday Packs are available through December 17th, with the drawing being held December 19th.

You Pick Ticket Packages

Between now and December 27th you can purchase 5, 10, or 20-Game You Pick packages.  Just put 50% down up front and we will bill you the remaining amount via PayPal.  Each package includes premium games which do not have any up-charge associated with them (when purchased in the You Pick Packages).  Each purchase will enter you into a drawing to receive a player signed puck as well.  Games included in the You Pick Packages begin December 31st to the end of the season (April 7th).  You Pick Packages can be purchased online at http://archcityarmy.bigcartel.com.

Presented by Arch City Army, Jacket Backers, and R Bar Arena a NHL12 Charity Tournament has been scheduled to take place September 19th beginning at 5pm.  The tournament will be conducted on the PlayStation 3 Console.  The first 100 entrants will receive a free ticket to a Columbus Blue Jackets Preseason Home Game of their choice as well as all entrants will receive food and drink specials during the tournament at R Bar Arena.  The fee to enter is $10 per person and will be donated to the Ryan Salmons Foundation through the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation.
